Pecatonica Indians (Pecatonica, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Dakota Indians (Dakota, IL), 56-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Pecatonica upgrades its record to 12-5 on the season. The Indians host Lena-Winslow (Lena, IL) to play the Panthers in a Northwest Upstate Illini - North bout on Friday, January 14. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 7-7. Lena-Winslow won 68-31 in their recent non-league bout against Forreston (Forreston, IL)

Next up, the Indians play the Aquin Catholic Bulldogs (Freeport, IL) in a Northwest Upstate Illini - North bout, on Tuesday, January 18. Dakota will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 58-40 non-league loss to Easton Valley (Preston, IA).
