Kennedy Cavaliers (Silver Spring, MD) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Watkins Mill Wolverines (Gaithersburg, MD), 76-73 in a league bout.

With the victory, Kennedy upgrades its record to 1-4 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to Poolesville (Poolesville, MD) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Friday, January 14. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 3-0. Poolesville won 53-39 in their recent non-league bout against Springbrook (Silver Spring, MD)

Next up, the Wolverines play the Magruder Colonels (Rockville, MD) in a Montgomery 3A/2A bout, on Friday, January 14. Watkins Mill will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Colonels come into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 70-31 non-league win over Wootton (Rockville, MD).
