Bruce Trojans (Bruce, MS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Vardaman Rams (Vardaman, MS), 59-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Bruce upgrades its record to 4-11 on the season. The Trojans host Houlka (Houlka, MS) to clash with the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 17-5. Houlka won 55-52 in their recent league bout against Hamilton (Hamilton, MS)

Next up, the Rams clash with the Okolona Chieftains (Okolona, MS) in a 1A Region 4 bout, on Saturday, January 14. Vardaman will attempt to upgrade on its 0-14 season record. The Chieftains go into the bout with a 5-10 record after their 55-48 league loss to Coffeeville (Coffeeville, MS).
