Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Highland Rams (Monterey, VA) and the host Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA), saw Highland's basketball squad hold off Craig County by a tally of 62-60.

With the victory, Highland improves its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Covington (Covington, VA) to confront the Cougars in a Pioneer challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 5-3. Covington lost 67-64 in their recent league challenge against Narrows (Narrows, VA)

Next up, the Rockets confront the Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 14. Craig County will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 11-4 record after their 64-53 league win over Giles (Pearisburg, VA).
