The Patrick County Cougars basketball team (Stuart, VA), was overwhelmed 67-31 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA)

The Buffaloes now possess a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Glenvar for a Three Rivers battle on Friday, January 13. Floyd County will confront a Highlanders team coming off a 57-54 league win over Alleghany (Covington, VA). The Highlanders record now stands at 8-5.

The Cougars (6-8) will now prepare for their battle against Martinsville (Martinsville, VA). The Bulldogs come into the Piedmont battle with a 6-6 record. In their last battle, Martinsville was overwhelmed by Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA), 69-38, in a league battle.
