Holland Dutchmen (Holland, NY) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Griffith Institute Griffins (Springville, NY), 72-61 in a league game.

In their next game, the Dutchmen face the Math Science Tech Prep at Seneca Wolves (Buffalo, NY) in a non-league game, on Saturday, January 14. Holland will attempt to move on its 9-1 season record.

With the defeat, Griffith Institute moves to 6-5 on the year. The Griffins host Cleveland Hill (Cheektowaga, NY) to face the Golden Eagles in a Section 6 Erie County IV game on Wednesday, January 18. The Golden Eagles enter the game with a record of 8-3. Cleveland Hill won 73-45 in their recent league game against Tonawanda (Tonawanda, NY)
