Holmdel Hornets (Holmdel, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Long Branch Green Wave (Long Branch, NJ), 62-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Holmdel upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Hornets travel to Freehold Township (Freehold, NJ) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 8-2. Freehold Township lost 60-58 in their recent league bout against Marlboro (Marlboro, NJ)

Next up, the Green Wave play the Ocean Township Spartans (Oakhurst, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Long Branch will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 43-42 league loss to Shore Regional (West Long Branch, NJ).
