The Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights (Lake Crystal, MN) basketball nipped the visiting Maple River Eagles (Mapleton, MN), 42-38 in Thursday's league test.
The Knights (10-1) will now prepare for their test against St. Clair (St. Clair, MN). The Cyclones go into the AA Section 2 test with a 5-5 record. In their last test, St. Clair got by Madelia (Madelia, MN), 59-32, in a non-league test.
The Eagles now own a 11-2 record. They play next when they host Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton for a non-league test on Friday, January 13. Maple River will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 72-60 non-league win over Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (Waterville, MN). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-4.
