The Livingston Lancers basketball team scored 48 points and held the visiting Newark Academy Minutemen to 29 in the Lancers league triumph on Thursday.

The Lancers now sport a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Montclair Kimberley Academy for a Super Essex - Independence contest on Saturday, January 14. Livingston will meet a Cougars team coming off a 67-40 non-league win over Tech (Newark, NJ). The Cougars record now stands at 4-3.

The Minutemen (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Weequahic (Newark, NJ). The Indians enter the non-league contest with a 3-6 record. In their last contest, Weequahic was outscored by Varsity Opponent (, ), 62-58, in a league contest.
