Pope Francis Prep Cardinals (Springfield, MA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Longmeadow Lancers (Longmeadow, MA), 62-58 in a league bout.

With the win, Pope Francis Prep upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Agawam (Agawam, MA) to clash with the Brownies in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Brownies go into the bout with a record of 3-6. Agawam lost 69-49 in their recent league bout against Pittsfield (Pittsfield, MA)

Next up, the Lancers clash with the Central Golden Eagles (Springfield, MA) in a Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Longmeadow will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 70-50 non-league loss to Windsor (Windsor, CT).
