South Pittsburg Pirates (South Pittsburg, TN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Marion County Warriors (Jasper, TN), 70-66 in a non-league bout.
With the win, South Pittsburg upgrades its record to 12-5 on the season. The Pirates host Whitwell (Whitwell, TN) to clash with the Tigers in a 1A District 6 bout on Friday, January 13. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-10.
Next up, the Warriors clash with the Grundy County Yellowjackets (Coalmont, TN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Marion County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record.
