The Wicksburg Panthers (Newton, AL) basketball crushed the host Samson Tigers (Samson, AL), 67-34 in Thursday's league test.

The Panthers (4-13) will now prepare for their test against Cottonwood (Cottonwood, AL). The Bears go into the 2A Area 2 test with a 4-11 record. In their last test, Cottonwood was trounced by Geneva County (Hartford, AL), 67-59, in a non-league test.

The Tigers now own a 1-17 record. They play next when they host Geneva County for a 2A Area 2 test on Tuesday, January 17. Samson will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 67-59 non-league win over Cottonwood (Cottonwood, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-9.
