Glenwood Gators (Phenix City, AL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lee-Scott Academy Warriors (Auburn, AL), 53-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Glenwood upgrades its record to 13-5 on the season. The Gators travel to Southland Academy (Americus, GA) to face the Raiders in a non-league game on Saturday, January 14. The Raiders enter the game with a record of 14-1. Southland Academy won 46-21 in their recent league game against Brookwood (Thomasville, GA)

With the defeat, Lee-Scott Academy moves to 3-7 on the year. The Warriors host Springwood (Lanett, AL) to face the Wildcats in a AISA AAA Region 1 game on Thursday, January 19. The Wildcats enter the game with a record of 6-6.
