Lathrop Spartans (Lathrop, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Johansen Vikings (Modesto, CA), 53-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Lathrop upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Spartans host Mountain House (Mountain House, CA) to play the Mustangs in a Western Athletic Conference bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 11-8. Mountain House won 53-36 in their recent league bout against Pacheco (Los Banos, CA)

Next up, the Vikings play the Beyer Patriots (Modesto, CA) in a Western Athletic Conference bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Johansen will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 4-12 record after their 43-42 non-league loss to Central Catholic (Modesto, CA).
