Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Manteno Panthers (Manteno, IL), 32-24 in a league bout.

With the victory, Reed-Custer upgrades its record to 11-11 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Coal City (Coal City, IL) to play the Coalers in a Illinois Central 8 bout on Thursday, January 19. The Coalers come into the bout with a record of 14-5. Coal City won 57-30 in their recent league bout against Wilmington (Wilmington, IL)

Next up, the Panthers play the Lisle Lions (Lisle, IL) in a Illinois Central 8 bout, on Monday, January 16. Manteno will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 6-16 record after their 62-17 league loss to Herscher (Herscher, IL).
