In Thursday's league game, the West Lauderdale Knights (Collinsville, MS) soccer squad overwhelmed the host Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS), by a final score of 4-0.
The Knights (17-2) will now prepare for their game against Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS). The Trojans enter the 4A Region 4 challenge with a 6-1 record. In their last challenge, Northeast Lauderdale by West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS), 7-0, in a league challenge.
The Cougars now have a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Neshoba Central for a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 14. Newton County will confront a Rockets team coming off a 6-0 league win over Columbus (Columbus, MS). The Rockets record now stands at 8-4.
