Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA), 40-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Appomattox County upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Raiders host Rustburg (Rustburg, VA) to play the Red Devils in a non-league bout on Friday, January 13. The Red Devils come into the bout with a record of 10-0. Rustburg won 49-28 in their recent non-league bout against Brookville (Lynchburg, VA)

Next up, the Knights play the Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. Buckingham will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Dukes come into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 34-30 non-league loss to Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA).
