The Mitchell Mountaineers basketball team (Bakersville, NC), dropped 46-36 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC)

The Vikings now possess a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Draughn for a non-league battle on Friday, January 20.

The Mountaineers (8-3) will now prepare for their battle against Cloudland (Roan Mountain, TN). The Highlanders come into the non-league battle with a 1-2 record. In their last battle, Cloudland beat Patrick Henry (Glade Spring, VA), 49-40, in a non-league battle.
