The Athenian Owls basketball team (Danville, CA), was toppled 77-61 in Friday's league battle with the host Head-Royce Jayhawks (Oakland, CA)
The Jayhawks now possess a 13-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Joseph Notre Dame for a non-league battle on Monday, January 15. Head-Royce will confront a Pilots team coming off a 58-47 league loss to Piedmont (Piedmont, CA). The Pilots record now stands at 9-8.
The Owls (13-4) will now prepare for their battle against Redwood Christian (San Lorenzo, CA). The Eagles come into the Bay Counties - East battle with a 5-11 record. In their last battle, Redwood Christian was toppled by Bentley (Lafayette, CA), 68-56, in a league battle.
