The Saltillo Lions basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Avinger Indians to 38 in the Lions league victory on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 13-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Union Hill for a 1A Region III District 24 contest on Tuesday, January 16. Saltillo will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 53-42 league loss to Sulphur Bluff (Sulphur Bluff, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-8.

The Indians (0-16) will now prepare for their contest against Bloomburg (Bloomburg, TX). The Wildcats come into the 1A Region III District 24 contest with a 1-12 record. In their last contest, Bloomburg was defeated by Avery (Avery, TX), 78-39, in a league contest.
