Cross Plains Buffaloes (Cross Plains, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Baird Bears (Baird, TX), 35-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Cross Plains upgrades its record to 8-9 on the season. The Buffaloes travel to May (May, TX) to clash with the Tigers in a 1A Region II District 13 bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 9-8. May won 76-27 in their recent league bout against Moran (Moran, TX)

Next up, the Bears clash with the Rising Star Wildcats (Rising Star, TX) in a 1A Region II District 13 game, on Thursday, January 18. Baird will attempt to move on its 0-5 season record. The Wildcats enter the game with a 9-5 record after their 71-28 league loss to Eula (Clyde, TX).
