Belpre Golden Eagles (Belpre, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Waterford Wildcats (Waterford, OH), 52-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Belpre upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Golden Eagles travel to Meigs (Pomeroy, OH) to play the Marauders in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Marauders come into the challenge with a record of 10-2. Meigs won 78-44 in their recent league challenge against River Valley (Bidwell, OH)

Next up, the Wildcats confront the Frontier Cougars (New Matamoras, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 13. Waterford will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record.
