Benton Rangers (Benton, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL), 64-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Benton upgrades its record to 16-3 on the season. The Rangers host Carterville (Carterville, IL) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 9-8.

Next up, the Panthers play the Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Pinckneyville will attempt to upgrade on its 14-5 season record. The Vandals go into the bout with a 8-10 record after their 39-34 non-league loss to Flora (Flora, IL).
