Boyd Yellowjackets (Boyd, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Pilot Point Bearcats (Pilot Point, TX), 58-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Boyd upgrades its record to 11-14 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Callisburg (Gainesville, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 3A Region II District 10 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 2-14. Callisburg lost 59-49 in their recent league bout against Whitesboro (Whitesboro, TX)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Valley View Eagles (Valley View, TX) in a 3A Region II District 10 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Pilot Point will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 3-18 record after their 58-18 league loss to Paradise (Paradise, TX).
