The Connally Cadets (Waco, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Gatesville Hornets (Gatesville, TX), 45-41 in Friday's league test.
The Cadets (10-12) will now prepare for their test against La Vega (Waco, TX). The Pirates go into the 4A Region III District 23 test with a 14-4 record. In their last test, La Vega got by China Spring (China Spring, TX), 40-36, in a league test.
The Hornets now own a 21-5 record. They play next when they travel to Salado for a 4A Region III District 23 test on Tuesday, January 16. Gatesville will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 67-52 league loss to Robinson (Robinson, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 8-16.
