The England Lions (England, AR) basketball nipped the visiting Cutter-Morning Star Eagles (Hot Springs National Park, AR), 49-47 in Friday's league test.

The Lions (19-2) will now prepare for their test against Marmaduke (Marmaduke, AR). The Greyhounds go into the non-league test with a 15-12 record. In their last test, Marmaduke was tipped by Riverside (Lake City, AR), 72-59, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 18-3 record. They play next when they travel to St. Joseph for a 2A Region 5 test on Tuesday, January 16. Cutter-Morning Star will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 48-33 league loss to Jacksonville Lighthouse (Jacksonville, AR). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-14.
