The Dutchtown Griffins basketball team (Geismar, LA), was toppled 47-33 in Friday's league battle with the host East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA)

The Spartans now possess a 8-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to University Lab for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 16. East Ascension will confront a Cubs team coming off a 55-49 non-league loss to Dunham (Baton Rouge, LA). The Cubs record now stands at 13-7.

The Griffins (13-9) will now prepare for their battle against Belaire (Baton Rouge, LA). The Bengals come into the non-league battle with a 4-13 record. In their last battle, Belaire was toppled by Glen Oaks (Baton Rouge, LA), 51-46, in a non-league battle.
