In Friday's league outing, the East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), by a count of 65-24.

The Warriors (10-5) will now prepare for their outing against Shelby (Shelby, NC). The Golden Lions go into the 1A/2A Southern Piedmont outing with a 7-5 record. In their last outing, Shelby smashed Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC), 90-61, in a league outing.

The Gryphons now hold a 7-6 record. They play next when they host Pinnacle Classical Academy for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 16. Thomas Jefferson will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 60-41 league loss to Lake Lure Classical Academy (Lake Lure, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 8-8.
