Elysian Fields Yellowjackets (Elysian Fields, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Waskom Wildcats (Waskom, TX), 58-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Elysian Fields upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to West Rusk (New London, TX) to play the Raiders in a 3A Region II District 16 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 4-11. West Rusk lost 46-25 in their recent league bout against Troup (Troup, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats play the West Rusk Raiders (New London, TX) in a 3A Region II District 16 bout, on Friday, January 19. Waskom will attempt to upgrade on its 7-18 season record.
