Virginia High School Basketball - Gretna knocked off by Nelson County

The Nelson County Governors basketball team scored 68 points and held the visiting Gretna Hawks to 51 in the Governors league triumph on Friday.
The Governors now sport a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Altavista for a Dogwood contest on Tuesday, January 16. Nelson County will meet a Colonels team coming off a 83-61 non-league win over Central Wise (Norton, VA). The Colonels record now stands at 9-2.
The Hawks (5-6) will now prepare for their contest against Chatham (Chatham, VA). The Cavaliers enter the Dogwood contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, Chatham was defeated by Dan River (Ringgold, VA), 71-65, in a league contest.
