Griswold Wolverines (Griswold, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Stonington Bears (Stonington, CT), 72-71 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Griswold upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Wolverines host Norwich Free Academy (Norwich, CT) to play the Wildcats in a Eastern Connecticut I bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 3-5. Norwich Free Academy lost 72-52 in their recent league bout against St. Bernard (Uncasville, CT)

Next up, the Bears play the Fitch Falcons (Groton, CT) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Stonington will attempt to upgrade on its 5-2 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 84-64 league win over New London (New London, CT).
