In Friday's league match, the visiting Shelby Golden Lions basketball team scored a decisive 90-61 triumph over the Highland Tech Rams.

In their next game, the Golden Lions meet the East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont match, on Tuesday, January 16. Shelby will attempt to move on its 7-5 season record. The Warriors enter the match with a 10-5 record after their 65-24 league win over Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC).

With the defeat, Highland Tech moves to 4-10 on the year. The Rams travel to Cherryville (Cherryville, NC) to meet the Ironmen in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont match on Tuesday, January 16. The Ironmen enter the match with a record of 8-7. Cherryville won 65-60 in their recent league match against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC)
