Hornell Red Raiders (Hornell, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Wellsville Lions (Wellsville, NY), 52-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hornell upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Red Raiders host Newark (Newark, NY) to play the Reds in a non-league bout on Monday, January 15. The Reds go into the bout with a record of 8-1. Newark lost 60-57 in their recent league bout against Whitman (Rushville, NY)

Next up, the Lions play the Avoca-Prattsburgh Titans (Prattsburgh, NY) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 15. Wellsville will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record.
