In Friday's league match, the visiting Ishpeming Hematites basketball team scored a good 53-42 triumph over the Negaunee Miners.

In their next game, the Hematites meet the Gwinn Modeltowners (Gwinn, MI) in a Mid-Peninsula match, on Thursday, January 18. Ishpeming will attempt to better on its 8-3 season record.

With the defeat, Negaunee moves to 9-4 on the year. The Miners travel to Hancock (Hancock, MI) to meet the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Monday, January 15. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 3-7. Hancock won 59-51 in their recent non-league match against L'Anse (L'Anse, MI)
