L.C. Bird Skyhawks (Chesterfield, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting James River Midlothian Rapids (Midlothian, VA), 58-53 in a league bout.

With the win, L.C. Bird upgrades its record to 11-0 on the season. The Skyhawks host Powhatan (Powhatan, VA) to clash with the Indians in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 5-5. Powhatan won 62-60 in their recent league bout against Midlothian (Midlothian, VA)

Next up, the Rapids clash with the Highland Springs Springers (Highland Springs, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 15. James River Midlothian will attempt to upgrade on its 9-2 season record. The Springers go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 70-58 league loss to Henrico (Richmond, VA).
