Ohio High School Basketball - South nips Mayfield

January 12, 2024: Mayfield, OH 44143

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the South Rebels (Willoughby, OH) and the host Mayfield Wildcats (Mayfield, OH), saw South's basketball squad hold off Mayfield by a tally of 52-48.

With the victory, South improves its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to University School (Hunting Valley, OH) to play the Preppers in a non-league challenge on Sunday, January 14. The Preppers come into the challenge with a record of 5-7. University School lost 69-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Gilmour Academy (Gates Mills, OH)

Next up, the Wildcats play the North Royalton Bears (North Royalton, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Mayfield will attempt to improve on its 0-11 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 9-3 record after their 66-52 league loss to Solon (Solon, OH).
