Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Pine-Richland tops New Castle

January 12, 2024: New Castle, PA 16101

Pine-Richland Rams (Gibsonia, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA), 62-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Pine-Richland upgrades its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Rams host Butler (Butler, PA) to play the Golden Tornado in a WPIAL 6A 1 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Golden Tornado come into the bout with a record of 10-2. Butler lost 66-42 in their recent league bout against Central Catholic (Pittsburgh, PA)

Next up, the Hurricanes play the Seneca Valley Raiders (Harmony, PA) in a WPIAL 6A 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. New Castle will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Raiders come into the bout with a 3-10 record after their 58-43 league loss to Pine-Richland (Gibsonia, PA).
