In Friday's league outing, the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) basketball squad beat the host R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC), by a count of 59-50.

The Panthers (14-2) will now prepare for their outing against Chase (Forest City, NC). The Trojans go into the 1A/2A Mountain Foothills outing with a 0-13 record.

The Hilltoppers now hold a 6-10 record. They play next when they host East Rutherford for a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills outing on Tuesday, January 16.
