Santa Fe Chiefs (Santa Fe Springs, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Whittier Cardinals (Whittier, CA), 61-58 in a league bout.

With the victory, Santa Fe upgrades its record to 3-19 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to El Rancho (Pico Rivera, CA) to play the Dons in a Del Rio bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Dons come into the bout with a record of 4-17. El Rancho lost 57-27 in their recent league bout against La Serna (Whittier, CA)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Sierra Vista Dons (Baldwin Park, CA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 15. Whittier will attempt to upgrade on its 8-14 season record. The Dons come into the bout with a 13-7 record after their 47-42 league win over Workman (City of Industry, CA).
