St. John's Pioneers (Shrewsbury, MA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Xaverian Brothers Hawks (Westwood, MA), 74-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, St. John's upgrades its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Boston College High (Boston, MA) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 6-2. Boston College High won 49-43 in their recent non-league bout against Mansfield (Mansfield, MA)

Next up, the Hawks play the Malden Catholic Lancers (Malden, MA) in a Catholic bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Xaverian Brothers will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Lancers come into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 66-51 non-league loss to North (Worcester, MA).
