Canisius Crusaders (Buffalo, NY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host St. Francis Red Raiders (Hamburg, NY), 37-36 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Canisius upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Crusaders host St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute (Buffalo, NY) to play the Marauders in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 20. The Marauders come into the bout with a record of 2-0.

Next up, the Red Raiders play the McQuaid Jesuit Knights (Rochester, NY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 16. St. Francis will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record.
