Amelia County Raiders (Amelia Court House, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA), 43-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Amelia County upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Raiders host Nottoway (Nottoway, VA) to play the Cougars in a James River bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 1-9.

Next up, the Knights play the Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA) in a James River bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Buckingham will attempt to upgrade on its 8-2 season record. The Chargers come into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 36-34 league win over Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA).
