Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Brookhaven Academy Cougars (Brookhaven, MS) and the visiting Silliman Institute Wildcats (Clinton, LA), saw Brookhaven Academy's basketball squad hold off Silliman Institute by a count of 47-41.

With the victory, Brookhaven Academy upgrades its record to 22-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Bowling Green (Franklinton, LA) to play the Buccaneers in a MAIS 5A District 3 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a record of 2-7.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Parklane Academy Pioneers (McComb, MS) in a MAIS 5A District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Silliman Institute will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record.
