Haughton Buccaneers (Haughton, LA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Captain Shreve Gators (Shreveport, LA), 51-28 in a league bout.

With the victory, Haughton upgrades its record to 22-3 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Parkway (Bossier City, LA) to play the Panthers in a 5A District 1 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 17-6. Parkway won 56-27 in their recent league bout against Benton (Benton, LA)

Next up, the Gators play the Byrd Yellow Jackets (Shreveport, LA) in a 5A District 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Captain Shreve will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Yellow Jackets come into the bout with a 2-20 record after their 64-21 league loss to Southwood (Shreveport, LA).
