Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Cooper Cougars (Abilene, TX) and the host Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX), saw Cooper's basketball squad hold off Coronado by a tally of 56-55.
With the victory, Cooper improves its record to 11-15 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX) to confront the Pirates in a 5A Region I District 4 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 18-8. Lubbock-Cooper won 60-49 in their recent league challenge against Wylie (Abilene, TX)
Next up, the Mustangs confront the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region I District 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Coronado will attempt to improve on its 9-18 season record. The Plainsmen come into the challenge with a 23-5 record after their 89-38 league win over Lubbock (Lubbock, TX).
