Hampton County Hurricanes (Varnville, SC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Edisto Cougars (Cordova, SC), 68-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hampton County upgrades its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Whale Branch (Beaufort, SC) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 13. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 1-11. Whale Branch lost 37-36 in their recent non-league bout against Hampton County (Varnville, SC)

Next up, the Cougars play the Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars (Ridgeland, SC) in a AA Region 6 bout, on Friday, January 19. Edisto will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Jaguars come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 67-40 league win over Barnwell (Barnwell, SC).
