Teague Lions (Teague, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Elkhart Elks (Elkhart, TX), 36-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Teague upgrades its record to 14-11 on the season. The Lions travel to Fairfield (Fairfield, TX) to play the Eagles in a 3A Region III District 20 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 22-2.

Next up, the Elks play the Buffalo Bison (Buffalo, TX) in a 3A Region III District 20 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Elkhart will attempt to upgrade on its 11-13 season record. The Bison go into the bout with a 7-17 record after their 38-28 league loss to Mexia (Mexia, TX).
