Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA) and the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), saw Franklin County's basketball squad wallop Monroe Area by a count of 54-22.

With the victory, Franklin County upgrades its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Lions host Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA) to play the Warriors in a AAA Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 8-8. Oconee County won 55-37 in their recent league challenge against Stephens County (Toccoa, GA)

Next up, the Purple Hurricanes play the Hebron Christian Lions (Dacula, GA) in a AAA Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Monroe Area will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 15-2 record after their 82-36 non-league win over Stockbridge (Stockbridge, GA).
