Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad crush the visiting Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS), 59-27 in a league test.

The War Eagles (13-5) will now prepare for their test against Mendenhall (Mendenhall, MS). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 9-5 record. In their last test, Mendenhall was trounced by Forest (Forest, MS), 40-38, in a league test.

The Gators now own a 4-15 record. They play next when they host Stone for a 5A Region 4 test on Tuesday, January 16. Gautier will encounter a Tomcats squad coming off a 61-21 league loss to Laurel (Laurel, MS). The Tomcats record now stands at 11-9.
