Hamburg Lions (Hamburg, AR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Stuttgart Ricebirds (Stuttgart, AR), 69-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hamburg upgrades its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Warren (Warren, AR) to play the Lumberjacks in a 4A Region 8 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Lumberjacks come into the bout with a record of 0-9. Warren lost 55-31 in their recent league bout against Star City (Star City, AR)

Next up, the Ricebirds play the Mills University Studies Comets (Little Rock, AR) in a 4A Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Stuttgart will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record. The Comets come into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 52-21 league win over Crossett (Crossett, AR).
